Lily + Elle + Edie

BOY TALK?

I cannot get enough of these girls. This shoot. Those floors. Those tutus. Those hair-do's. {OK, so basically everything I was in love with.} I think it is every girl's childhood dream to put on the tights, the slippers, and the infamous blank tank top {for those who did not want to wear those uni...whats?} so she could dance around the house as a professional ballerina. And editing these pictures really made me wish my mom had me take dance lessons as a child. I adore the opportunity these sisters gave me to capture not only the grace and beauty but also the down-right-dirtiness and hard work of ballet. {And the joys of sisterhood} Between the giggles, trips, and sweat {it was only five thousand degrees in that building, no big deal} Lily, Elle, and Edie, made this shoot an absolute pleasure for me. Love you girls! xoxo

Kayleen

Kayleen and I met awhile back at one of my shoots {for her friend Kaytie, that happens to be in this shoot, actually.} at a local horse stable. We hit it off while we were bouncing in the seats of the revved up golf cart that was transporting us around the beautiful terrain of the farm. After we had risked our lives down steep, muddy, and slippery hills of the acreage, she apparently had thought I was wild enough to do a shoot for her. Kayleen, a lifelong dancer, asked me if I would be willing to photograph her in one of her ballet outfits. "Sure!" I thought. That's nothing too extreme. But there was a catch: Kayleen wanted to destroy her recital dress and have me watch in shock AND document as she did. With the help of Kaytie, her best-sister-friend, we accomplished just what Kayleen wanted. :)

Chris + Amanda

Talk about an awesome couple. Chris and Amanda are now married, in school, and moving into their quaint home downtown. Both baby twenty somethings, they are no strangers to hard work and success. The effort and sheer labor put into their new home shows itself through all the freshly sanded and stained wood floors and just-painted walls. We thought a first-home-newlywed-oh-so-happy-shoot would be an exciting way to capture the sea of changes that is coming their way. {Along with the two furry family members}
